Description

ally-Ann Creed® Vitamin B12 contains no sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavouring or colourants.

Vit B12 is in the form of methylcobalamin, which is known to be the most absorbable form of B12 by the body and is encapsulated in a veggie capsule, making it suitable for vegetarians and vegans too.

Benefits may include:
-Improved energy production
-A reduction in tiredness and fatigue
-Assistance with the formation of healthy red blood cells
-Optimal function of the nervous system
-Assistance in the prevention of anaemia

Vitamin B12, also known as methylcobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, and the optimal functioning of the nervous system. Our bodies cannot produce vitamin B12 on its own, and we therefore need to obtain it through animal-based foods or from supplementation.

Do you get enough vitamin B12? This can depend on one’s age, eating habits and / or medical conditions.

Some common symptoms of a lack of vitamin B12 include:
-weakness, tiredness and / or fatigue.
-heart palpitations and / or shortness of breath
-pale complexion
-nerve issues such as numbness, tingling, muscle weakness and or difficulty walking
-vision loss
-behavioural changes, and psychological effects such as depression and / or memory loss

Foods naturally rich in vitamin B12 are those of animal origin such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy products. Individuals who follow a vegan diet (meaning they do not eat any animal products including dairy and eggs) can often suffer from a vitamin B12 deficiency, and supplementation can greatly assist as well as opting for foods fortified with B12.

You may also be likely to suffer from B12 deficiency if any of the following applies to you:
-you suffer from celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, or bacterial overgrowth. Each of these conditions affect the small intestine’s ability to absorb the nutrient
-certain medications that interfere with the absorption of B12 such as Nexium, metformin and H2 blockers
-excessive use of alcohol
-atrophic gastritis, which is the thinning of the stomach lining
-immune disorders such as Graves’ disease and lupus

Most people can obtain sufficient vitamin B12 through consuming enough animal-based foods.

If, however, you do not eat animal products or have a medical condition that hinders your body’s ability to absorb vitamin B12, our Sally-Ann Creed® Vitamin B12 is a great option for you!
